This significantly reduces jagged-line artifacts for a smooth, natural image. Selectable 540p, for those who want to maintain a progressive-scan image from a progressive-scan source, is an option in the on-screen menu.
A stellar 3D Y/C (4 MB, 10-bit) digital comb filter with Vertical Contour Correction provides accurate processing of RF and composite-video signals for a sharp, clean picture. This high-end filter significantly reduces detail noise, seen as shimmering or flickering, in complex or intricately detailed scenes.
The set's HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) input allows a direct digital connection with a DTV set-top box or receiver. HDMI is a lossless, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface to link any audio/video source (such as a set-top box, DVD player, or AV receiver) with your TV or monitor.
